On Saturday 24th April 2021, Blueprint Basketball delivered a 'Mini-Basket MasterClass' for children aged 5 to 11 years old to Beccles Bombers Basketball Club. The north Suffolk basketball club is a location close to the heart of Founder and Director, Matthew Harber, as this was where he started his own playing journey and coaching career.
Matthew Wakefield, Head Coach of Beccles Bombers Basketball Club
"MATT [WAKEFIELD] IS A COMPLETE INSPIRATION TO ME. HE HAS GIVEN SO MUCH TO BASKETBALL OVER THE YEARS AND I'M PROUD TO HAVE ORIGINATED FROM THIS CLUB."
"It was important for me to start this journey of launching the company in the place where my love and passion for basketball began", said Harber when commenting on the reason for delivering this Mini-Basket MasterClass in his hometown. He went on to say, "I wanted to give something back to the children here and offer them amazing basketball experiences and help them to benefit from the game like I have." The former Professional and Great Britain youth coach led over 25 children through a number of fun games and activities across the day; aimed to introduce basketball to new children and develop the skills of the Clubs' up-and-coming junior players.
The free MasterClass reached a wide-range of girls and boys in the local area and was enjoyed by everyone involved, even including some of the parents! Coaches from the Beccles Bombers Basketball Club were also in attendance to observe the sessions as part of their own development.
There were so many great ideas to take away for me. I had a really good day!

Blueprint Basketball would like to thank all of the children, parents and staff who helped to make the day a success, with a specific mention to both Matt Wakefield and Syd Payne from Beccles Bombers, who promoted and administrated the session in partnership with Blueprint Basketball.
Blueprint Basketball will launch across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough from September 2021 onwards.
