Hulme and Sayers Back Blueprint Basketball
Basketball duo, Katrin Hulme and Louis Sayers will back Blueprint Basketball in new Ambassador roles.
Cambridgeshire natives Katrin Hulme and Louis Sayers, join the team as Ambassadors, as they set to support the launch and development of Blueprint Basketball by inspiring girls and boys across the county to take up the game of basketball.
Katrin grew up in Cambridge and played a range of sports during her childhood, but eventually fell in love with basketball at the age of 13. She went on to excel during her playing career, having won numerous National Titles at Durham University, Northumbria University, Anglia Ruskin University and the Sevenoaks Suns.
"I'm really excited to be involved in this great initiative", said Hulme when asked how she felt about joining Blueprint Basketball. She continued, "I can't wait to see the impact and joy that basketball will bring to all the children."
Positive role models are so crucial in a child's life. I couldn't think of two people I would rather have to represent our organisation and brand!
Matthew Harber - Founder and Director
"Basketball still doesn't have a presence in the mainstream media, so I knew it was going to be very important for us to present children across the county with amazing role models and show them what is possible in our sport.", explained Director Matthew Harber.
He went on to say, "It was very important for me to find people who are connected to the local area, and that not only have an elite playing background, but are amazing people! We have found that with Kat and Louis."
"I am passionate about introducing kids to the game that I love and excited to see the value it brings to their lives."
Newcastle Eagles basketball player, Louis Sayers was born and raised in Peterborough, where his interest in basketball all began. Standing at 6ft 6in, Louis has represented both England and Great Britain as a junior international and began his professional career in 2013. This season, he helped the Eagles to win the BBL Cup and BBL Play Offs, having averaged 8 points per game and is considered to be one of the most lethal shooters in the professional league.
When asked how he felt about joining the organisation, Sayers said, "I’m so excited to be an Ambassador for Blueprint Basketball! I was lucky enough to make Basketball my career but the sport, as a whole, has given and taught me so much; way before it became my job."
He continued, "I’ve made lifelong friendships, had experiences I'll remember and cherish forever and the sport has taught me values and social skills that have helped me through life and shaped me into the person I am proud to be today. I am passionate about introducing kids to the sport that I love and excited to see the value it brings to their lives."
The duo will support in the promotion and marketing of Blueprint Basketball as the organisation is set to increase its reach across the county from September.
